Christmas in Pictures!
- On: 12/26/2009 13:54:42
As I write this we are 'snowed in' the day after Christmas. Oh, I did get out early this AM for a long run with Patrick and Nikki...and the snow kept coming and coming! We got 6" in just the time we ran! It was very pretty snow and relatively warm @ 23F degrees, so you can not tell how deep it is here, but thank goodness for Yak Traks! Actually, I could have had my snow shoes today. We ran the Cary March Madness 1/2 Marathon course in about the same time if we would walk it in the summer! LOL
On Christmas Eve the doorbell ran and it was my trusty FED EX friend. He has been here a lot this week- I was anxiously awaiting Jerome's BEER OF THE MONTH club order too! (which we did get!)...anyway, he dropped off this ridicuously large poster box...It was from some of my athletes: Kate O, Mary H-W, Kim K, Ange B, Angelina, Kari, Julia, Marit & Danielle...I was afraid to open it. I told Jerome...oh my gosh, it is a life size poster of them! LOL....oh no! It was a life size poster - adhesive - cut out in HIGH DEF of KID rock. I literally almost peed in my pants. I thought...HOLY SHIT....he is hot but where can I put him? Jerome and I agreed to put him in the bedroom - on the ceiling. LOL..not...probably in my office. So I can drool at him all day. Crack me up! I love it...here it is - the whole poster not cut out yet on my 12 seat dining room table!

Also for my office, I got lots of goodies...I think I will start to take over the other rooms in my house. See, I am not a kitchen person or any other room, so this works out fine for me. The kids and I all got new LCD screens and computer (mine just runs off my laptop of course). Here it is...I took this on Christmas Night and sent it to Elizabeth, which is why her blog is up...she missed me. And, just because I need to see everyone LARGER than I already do!!?

And, do you see that poster behind my new LCD screen? Guess what that is? Seriously, ONE OF the best gifts I have ever received. EVER. Isn't it great when your loved ones make something from the heart for you? Those are my favorites. My dear sister, Beth, made this WORDLE for me...and I absolutely LOVE IT...it is all my special things from my BIO on my blog - so my history, the kids, Jerome, Hawaii, Triathlon....just so thoughtful...it is on a brown canvas...so we will hang it in my office too....it makes me smile and honestly the best gift EVER! Thanks beth! xo

Speaking of homemade gifts...my mom is VERY crafty and last year made us the Advent calendar. This year she made me a new pillow for our new couches in the basement...isn't it cute? LOVE IT! xo

Here is a pic of Morgan and I at her Christmas party where I was the good ol party leader (LOL)!

And, finally, this is my SWIM BAG. I am a huge TIMBUK2 fan, but this bag is too big even for all my swim suits! DRIVE ME NUTS. But, I need to figure out another way to carry all my suits! haha...I have a little swimsuit issue.

After our runs today, Jerome and I have been (well, ok fair enough, mostly Jerome) setting up the kids new desks and computers. Jerome just came back down and told me that Graham plugged in "Scarey Videos" in Google.com and naked men with no heads popped up. We thought we put on a ton of protection, but clearly not. Uh oh, I see us entering another challenging stage here.
Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and all the snow (well, here)! :)

Oh I saw that poster immediately... I LOVE that kind of thing. So cool. Did she make it herself or have it done? I'd love to do that....the poster is a hoot...esp if it ends up on bedroom ceiling..lol.
I'm cracking up about the scary men on Graham's computer...yikes. a new stage is heading our way for sure. sounds like you had a nice holiday. :)

All the snow we got last weekend got washed away this weekend by all the rain and warmer temps we had. I'm not disappointed, it means I get to run in 48˚F temps today with sun and no snow!!Merry belated Christmas to you too. Although, I must reevaluate my opinion of you if Kid Rock is someone you think of as "hot"..lol. I guess we all have our "tastes". I am not looking forward to entering the computer age with my son...I still have some time before I need to worry.
I've never heard of a wordle, but that is way cool. I can see why it is your favorite present.
Enjoy the snow!!

We have been SO lucky to have almost no snow this year. After last year, I was gonna berate the weather gods if we had to deal with more. We even only had about one week of freezing weather, whereas last year we sat through several weeks of between 10-20F. YUCK!LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the Wordle. Noticed it immediately :)
